As a Financial Advisor and Investment Portfolio Manager as well as a lecturer and published author, Trevor Fried is as passionate about Gilda’s Club of South Florida as he is about investments. With both an M.B.A. and a Doctorate of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, Trevor founded and runs The Las Olas Group at Morgan Stanley to provide a more comprehensive practice that focuses on the development of each client’s individual financial and investment plan.
Vice President of Oncology Services, Memorial Cancer Institute
Maggie Wiegandt is the Vice President of Oncology Services for Memorial Healthcare Systems. She is responsible for all cancer services at both Memorial Regional Hospital and Memorial Hospital West, as well as all other satellite clinics within the Memorial Healthcare System in South Florida. Memorial Healthcare System is the fifth-largest public healthcare system in the country. Its facilities include Memorial Regional Hospital, Memorial Regional Hospital South, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Memorial Hospital West, Memorial Hospital Miramar, Memorial Hospital Pembroke and Memorial Manor nursing home. In addition to being Gilda’s Club South Florida board member, she holds many leadership positions throughout the Broward County community.

Leonard Goldberg is the founder and president of Gold Aviation Services, specializing in full service aircraft management, sales and private aircraft charter. He has been a strong suport of Gilda's Club for many years, including hosting an annual fundraising event to support our programming. An active member of the community, he also serves as a board member and co-learning chair for the South Florida chapter of the Entrepreneurs' Organization.
Oncology Service Line Director, Broward Health
Heather Miller MSN, RN-BC, CPON is the Oncology Service Line Director at Broward Health Medical Center (BHMC) in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In this capacity, she is responsible for oversight and strategic planning of all oncology-related services and programs. She is a member of the Association of Pediatric Oncology Nurses, the Oncology Nursing Society, the Association of Healthcare Executives, and Sigma Theta Tau. She has presented at a variety of conferences across the country. In 2007, in collaboration with her colleagues, she created the Palm Beach/ Broward APHON Chapter where she served, initially, as president elect from 2007-2010, and president from 2010-2014.

Her primary areas of practice include litigation in tort matters, labor and employment law and academic matters. Ms. Macdonald is admitted to the Florida Bar, the New York State Bar, and the United States District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Broward County Bar Association, the Broward County Women Lawyer’s Association, the Italian Bar Association, the National Association of College and University Attorneys, the Florida State University Boosters, the Broward County Seminole Club, and the Broward County Tri Delta Alumni Association.

Born and raised in Broward County, Jeff Cato has been involved with Gilda’s Club since 2010 and joined the board in 2011. In addition to Gilda’s Club, Jeff is on the board and involved in several non-profits throughout the county. On the business side, Jeff owns Cato Insurance Group, an exclusive Allstate Agency, located in Coral Springs Florida. Currently, Jeff resides in Pompano Beach with his partner Bob.

Robert plays a leading role in Business Development for the continuing growth throughout the Southeast for Stiles Corporation. Established in 1951, Stiles is recognized for developing more than 43 million square feet of quality office, industrial, retail, mixed-use and residential projects throughout Florida. With a multitude of award winning projects, Stiles has played a vital role in South Florida’s rise to prominence and is proudly credited with inspiring the revitalization of downtown Fort Lauderdale, including helping to shape the city’s iconic skyline. Over the past six decades, Stiles has remained committed to building better communities that enhance the quality of life for Floridians.
Robert was personally touched by cancer with the loss of his wife, Dr. Monica Fernandez, and he is dedicated to serve the needs of his community on behalf of his wife’s memory. Robert also Owns and Operates Lakeside Animal Hospital. Robert is raising their two children and living in Plantation.
Stephen Ferrante, MSW

Stephen Ferrante, M.S.W. of Group Victory, LLC, a strategy and marketing consulting firm, serves on the faculty of the Barry University School of Social Work. A bachelor’s degree graduate of NSU, he received his Masters in Social Work from Florida International University. He is a public administration Ph.D. candidate. Mr. Ferrante has dedicated his thirty-year professional career to working in the human services field with various populations and age groups. Mr. Ferrante has worked in direct service, managerial, and leadership capacities overseeing community care, mental health, substance abuse, evidence-based and supportive services for vulnerable populations. Mr. Ferrante, whose work includes program development, implementation, and training, has presented locally, statewide, and nationally. Mr. Ferrante has also served on national, state, and local human service councils and non-profit boards.

Sean Pleus attended the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, and earned his Juris Doctor Degree from Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad Law Center. Sean is a shareholder at the Law firm of Goldman and Daszkal, P.A., which has been serving the South Florida Community for over 25 years. He specializes in Personal Injury Law, focusing on auto accident, premises liability, product liability and other negligence cases. Sean is admitted to the Florida Bar and the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Sean is a member of the Broward County, Palm Beach County, and American Bar Associations, is a member of BNI Broward, and has been involved with Gilda's Club since 2012.
Beth Rielly has been touched by cancer on both sides of her family and first became involved with Gilda's Club by volunteering on the event committee for Casino Night in 2013. With a Masters Degree in Education from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Beth has taught Special Education classes in the private and public school systems in Ohio, as well as at Xavier University for six years. While at Xavier, she and her husband, Philip, created a program to bring Special Education services to Catholic schools in Cincinnati. She also sat on the President’s Advisory Council for the university. She and Philip moved to Fort Lauderdale from Ohio two years ago with their two children.
Mary Robinson, paralegal, Associate Broker and co-founder of the Oyler and Robinson Real Estate Practice (Keller Williams) dedicates her time equally in running a relationship based real estate practice headquartered in Fort Lauderdale serving Broward, Dade and Palm Counties. As a long time resident of South Florida, Mary has been committed to dedicating her time to the community she serves through the volunteering on numerous committees and social events.
Sharon Sullivan, MMHS

A resident of South Florida for the past 23 years, Sharon was introduced to the local non-profit community as a volunteer for Kids In Distress. She served as the President of the KIDs Auxiliary, and 20 years later, remains active on their behalf today. As a founding partner of The Alchemy Group, a non-profit consultancy firm, Sharon assisted local organizations with their strategic planning, board development, grant writing and achievement of their fundraising goals. Clients included; JM Family’s Deliver the Dream, The Epilepsy Foundation of South Florida, Broward Meals on Wheels, Young at Art, and The Chris Evert Children’s Hospital. From 2007 – 2011, Ms. Sullivan was the Executive Director of the St. Thomas Aquinas High School Foundation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As Executive Director of Advancement & Alumni Relations for Nova Southeastern University since 2012, Sharon directs the university wide events and projects for the Office of the President, the NSU Annual Fund, and international alumni initiatives. She is the proud mother of 3, and heads to the Keys as often as possible for kayaking and sunsets. Sharon has earned a Masters in Management of Human Services from Brandeis University, and a BS in Marketing from Siena College.
