At Gilda's Club South Florida our goal is to increase the health and well-being of people affected by cancer by increasing social ties, sense of control, and increasing feelings of hope and meaning.

We accomplish this goal through our free evidence-based program of support groups, education, mind/body workshops, social connections and resources and referrals. Our groups and events give our members the support they need to confront cancer. Our education programs aim to empower people impacted by cancer with the knowledge necessary to take an active role in their path to recovery. Our healthy lifestyle programs are designed to strengthen both body and mind over the course of the cancer journey.

Gilda's Club has seen encouraging trends of decrease in levels of depression and anxiety for individuals who attend our program.

"Gilda's means so much to me... as a volunteer, then board member, and donor and now as a member as a family member has cancer. I knew we could turn to a support group right away - that makes all the difference in those first few weeks!"

"The grieving group and tai chi have really been beneficial to me since my husband has passed away. It has really helped me to grow and cope. I have enjoyed developing relationships with other members."

"Gilda's Club is an amazing resource of support, education, healthy living and friendship to those of us going through our cancer journey."

"Gilda's Club South Florida is a wonderful organization. They have helped my family through a difficult time when my daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia and after. I love that they think about the entire family not just the patient because we are all going through this fight together."

"Gilda's Club allowed me to heal mentally and emotionally from the diagnosis of cancer. The support groups were critical to my survival post medical treatments. The mental challenge of having cancer is often unrecognized and under appreciated my the mainstream medical community. Gilda's has been life send for me. The power of knowing you are not alone is life changing."

"Gilda's Club South Florida was a vehicle of support and connection during the Pandemic of 2020. I participated in the Cancer Survivor Group virtual session. It was therapeutic just being a part of a community of women sharing and encouraging one another. I plan to explore other activities that are offered. GCSF is a positive light in my life. Thank you."

"When I was diagnosed with Cancer I participated in a few support groups and attended some guest speaker meetings. I have been commited twice a week since July 2020 to the Zoom meetings by Linda Janasz "Mindfulness Matters" which has made a tremendous positive difference in my life. Thank you Gilda's Club and all those that contribute to an amazing organization!"
