Children & Teen Programs

Support Groups

Weekly peer-based support for children and teen members who have a significant person in their life impacted by cancer or who they themselves have a cancer diagnosis. Gilda's Club support groups provide a supportive group environment where children can safely communicate their feelings and emotions, learn new coping skills, and form new friendships.

Gilda's Club provides support for the whole family. While the children support groups are in session, adult family members have their own support group they can attend simultaneously.

Wednesday, 6:30-8pm. Dinner at 6pm.
Please RSVP 24 hours in advance to 954-763-6776

Kids Cancer Awareness Now - Kids CAN

A Cancer Awareness Educational Program that has been approved by the Broward County's School Board's Superintendent Screening Committee. The program is an age-appropriate interactive presentation where middle and high school students are informed about cancer, diagnosis, and treatment. Our goal by the end of the presentation is to dispel myths surrounding cancer, give students tools to understand cancer prevention, how to take care of both their mental and physical health and how to provide support for someone in their life with a cancer diagnosis. The facilitators consist of a registered nurse and a masters level intern in either social work or public health. Kids CAN has been widely received by teachers across Broward County since 2015. The presentation is the length of one class period and is always free.
