Whether you or someone you love has been diagnosed with cancer, or you recently lost someone to cancer, there is a place for you at Gilda’s Club. You are not alone when you join our community.
Call us at 954-763-6776. You will be connected to someone who can answer your questions and help you schedule a new member meeting.
At our new member meeting you will be given a tour of our Clubhouse, a comprehensive overview of our program and a calendar of monthly activities.
During this time you will also create your Customized Membership Plan (CMP) by making the program choices that suit your time, interests, and energy best.
That’s it ... you are then an “official” Gilda’s Club South Florida member!
Stress and anxiety go hand-in-hand with a cancer diagnosis. You want to get back to normal, and you may wonder if you will ever feel the same as you did before. You may also find that having been diagnosed with cancer changes how you think about what is important in life. The ways people deal with emotions are often referred to as coping mechanisms. Every person uses different ways to manage stress from cancer.
“The failure to address the very real psychosocial health needs of patients and their caregivers is a failure to effectively treat that patient's cancer, plain and simple.”
Gilda's Club South Florida addresses these psychosocial needs through our comprehensive Program Components: Support Services, Noogieland™, Education, Healthy Lifestyle, Social Connections, and Resources & Referrals.
The Cancer Support Community’s signature toll-free helpline service has expanded to include an online live chat feature. This live chat is available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 8 pm Eastern Time.
The helpline provides guidance, resources and support to callers with a variety of needs—from getting information about cancer, identifying a local support group or just finding someone who is willing to listen.
