Gilda’s Club South Florida Promotes Dr. Belinda Paulicin to VP of Programs and Services
Honored as a Community Foundation of Broward’s ‘Hidden Hero of the Pandemic’
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (October 1, 2021) – Gilda’s Club South Florida, an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community (CSC), the world’s largest provider of professionally-led cancer support, has promoted Belinda Paulicin, D.S.W., L.C.S.W., their former Director of Program Services, to the position of Vice President of Programs and Services, a key position linking the administration of Gilda’s Club to the community and those impacted by cancer. Dr. Paulicin holds a Doctorate in Social Work as well as being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Dr. Paulicin brings over 20 years of experience developing trauma-focused interventions and advocating for children and families. As the former Director of Clinical Programs at the Advocate Program, she served for 11 years overseeing collaborations, service delivery, management, and policy levels across 40 private and government agencies in Dade County. She also worked with Yale New Haven Health Systems as Program Manager for Child FIRST, a national organization that provides home-based services to vulnerable young children and families. Dr. Paulicin is a published author in the field of child development and mental health.

When COVID hit, Dr. Paulicin worked tirelessly to serve cancer patients and their families, ensuring that Gilda’s Club did not miss one day of programming. “Belinda took on patients that other organizations could not serve and provided cancer screenings to underserved communities,” said Praitano. “That is who she is, a true professional working for the greater good. Belinda exceeded our annual goals, even during the pandemic. Her contributions to Gilda’s Club and the South Florida community are immeasurable and will help us accomplish key goals as we continue to fine tune our management team.”
In honor of her achievements, Dr. Paulicin was selected as one of twelve of the Community Foundation of Broward’s “Hidden Heroes of the Pandemic.”
