Children and Family Program

Kids, Teens, & Family

Children & Family Program

Cancer affects the entire family. Gilda’s Club South Florida offers ongoing support for youth of all ages who have been impacted by cancer – living with cancer themselves, who have a loved one diagnosed, or are grieving the loss of a loved one to cancer. We offer age-appropriate support and educational activities that meet youth where they are. Our program offers a place to connect, learn, have fun and talk about experiences, while being supported by our professional staff and trained volunteers.

Our program is free and open to Gilda’s Club Participants with children.

Noogieland Play Area

Noogieland is our Gilda’s Club children’s play area for children and teens who have been impacted by a diagnosis of cancer. It is a play space where kids can meet other kids who share a similar experience and where they can find the support they need. Noogieland provides a safe environment for kids to share their feelings and build support.

Gilda’s Teen Center

The Gilda’s Teen Center is a dynamic and welcoming space designed specifically for teenagers impacted by cancer. This supportive environment offers a place for teens to connect, share experiences, and find comfort among peers who understand their unique challenges. With a focus on fostering a sense of community and belonging, the Teen Center at Gilda's Club empowers teens to navigate their cancer journey with strength and hope and is for teens who have a parent, grandparent, other family member, or friend with cancer (either in treatment or post-treatment), or who have cancer themselves.

Support & Play Support Group

A peer support group designed for kids under the age of 13 who have a parent, grandparent, other family member, or friend with cancer (either in treatment or post-treatment), or who have cancer themselves. This group offers children an opportunity to make friends and learn skills to help them when cancer is in their lives. Gilda’s Club South Florida also provides a warm and supportive environment for children to socialize and discuss the impact of cancer on their lives. This group provides activities based with a large discussion component to get kids comfortable with discussing their feelings about cancer in a safe environment. Support & Play is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional.

Parent Chat Networking Group

A supportive and compassionate gathering designed specifically for parents and caregivers of pediatric cancer patients and survivors. This group offers a safe space to share experiences, discuss challenges, and connect with others who understand the unique journey of caring for a child with cancer. Whether your child is currently undergoing treatment, in remission, or navigating life after cancer, this group provides emotional support, practical advice, and a sense of community. Together, we’ll explore coping strategies, celebrate victories, and find strength in shared stories. All parents and caregivers are welcome.

Monthly Events for the Whole Family

Our Family Fun Series events are held every month to offer fun activities including arts and crafts, drama, games, and more. We understand that “family” looks different for everyone and welcome anyone you would consider to be part of your family. Our Family Fun Series events provide families of all ages a space to make connections, share some laughs, and get creative. Kids and teens are welcome to bring a friend! These events are the perfect way for everyone in the whole family to enjoy one another without thinking about the impact that cancer has on them. Snacks are always provided.
